The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has decided to investigate allegations of Tk 80,000 crore corruption against former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and three others in nine priority projects under the previous Awami League government.

Apart from Sheikh Hasina, those who will be investigated are Hasina's son Sajeeb Wazed Joy, sister Sheikh Rehana and her daughter Tulip Siddiq, according to ACC sources.

The ACC confirmed the decision on Tuesday (Dec 17).

Significant irregularities occurred in the implementation of projects such as the Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant, special Ashrayan projects, and initiatives under BEZA and BEPZA, the commission sources added.
