A fire broke out at a button factory in Gazipur’s Sreepur on Sunday (December 22).
Four fire service units from Sreepur and Rajendrapur fire stations rushed to the scene within 10 minutes of receiving the report at 1:45 PM to bring the blaze under control.
The cause of the fire was not immediately known.
Recent days have seen several fire incidents. On Saturday (December 21), a fire broke out in a slum on Road 22, Block K, in Dhaka’s Banani, burning down multiple shanties. The fire was brought under control within an hour.
Earlier, on Friday, December 20, a fire engulfed a house on Road 4, Block C, in Dhaka’s Banasree. On the same morning, a fire broke out at Lovleen Restaurant in Sector 12, Uttara. It took 12 fire units several hours to control the blaze, causing significant damage to the restaurant and building, though no casualties were reported.
