Dhaka: In a nonstop hunt after two suspected terrors were shot down in the city on Wednesday evening, a team of the Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) later in the night arrested another two members of the gang with a huge amount of Phensydil in Shahinbag area.

The arrested persons were identified as Abdur Rauf alias Munna and Asadur Rahman alias Biplob.

Rab officials said the arrested duo were associates of the “identified terrorists” Selim alias Sailya and Jabbar who were killed in a gunfight with Rab on Wednesday evening in Karwanbazar-Bangladesh Film Development Corporation (BFDC) area.

Operations Officer of Rab-2 Captain Khalid told banglanews24.com.bd that following given information the elite force raided Shahinbag mosque area at about 2:30am and arrested the drug peddlers.

They seized a total of 1000 bottles of the narcotic syrup phensydil from their possession.

The elite force indicated that the suspects have a network of drug and gun trade. “We are hopeful that many more associates of Sailya will be arrested and some arms and ammunition hauled up very soon,” Captain Khalid said.
