The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has predicted that the country will experience dry weather over the next 24 hours, starting this morning (Dec 12).
"Weather may remain dry with a temporarily partly cloudy sky across the country," the forecast stated, effective from 9:00 am.
The well-marked low over the southwest Bay of Bengal and its adjacent areas is currently positioned off the Sri Lanka coast. Its associated trough extends up to the North Bay, while a ridge of the sub-continental high extends into Bihar and its adjoining regions.
Temperatures are expected to drop slightly during the day and night, according to the forecast.
Additionally, moderate to thick fog may occur in some areas of the northern and northeastern regions. Elsewhere in the country, light to moderate fog is expected during the late-night hours and early morning.
On Wednesday, the maximum temperature of 29.5°C was recorded in Sitakunda, Chattogram, while today’s minimum temperature of 10.2°C was jointly recorded in Gopalganj and Chuadanga.
In Dhaka, the sun will set at 5:13 pm today and rise at 6:32 am tomorrow.
