The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has issued a forecast indicating that a mild to moderate cold wave is sweeping over several regions of the country.
Affected areas include the north, north-east, west, south, and southwest, particularly districts such as Rajshahi, Pabna, Naogaon, Dinajpur, Panchagarh, Jashore, Kushtia, Chuadanga, Gopalganj, and Moulvibazar.
The cold wave is expected to persist in some areas for the next 24 hours.
The weather is likely to remain dry with a partly cloudy sky, and light to moderate fog may form during the night.
While night temperatures may slightly rise in Rangpur and Rajshahi divisions, they are expected to stay nearly unchanged elsewhere.
Daytime temperatures are predicted to increase slightly across the country.
On Thursday, the maximum temperature recorded was 28.7°C at Teknaf, while the minimum temperature today was 7.3°C at Tetulia.
The sun will set at 5:29 PM today and rise at 6:43 AM tomorrow in the capital.
