A local Jubo League leader of Pabna Ishwardi upazila died and three others were seriously injured after two motorcycles collided head-on on the Ishwardi-Kushtia regional road in Salimpur Union.

The deceased was identified as Tanvir Ahmed Rubel Biswas, 43, the organizational secretary of Pakshi Union in Pabna’s Ishwardi upazila.

The accident occurred around 9:00 pm on Thursday (Jan 9) near Blue Castle Hotel.

Rubel, a resident of Baghail Sardar Para, succumbed to his injuries while receiving treatment at Ruposhi Bangla Clinic and Diagnostic Center in Ishwardi at around 2:00 am on Friday. 

He was the son of Main Uddin Biswas and the brother of Shimul Biswas, the managing director of the same clinic.

Shimul Biswas confirming the matter said Rubel was returning home on his motorcycle when it collided with another motorcycle coming from the opposite direction. 

Following the incident, locals rushed the injured to the upazila health complex, from where Rubel was later shifted to Ruposhi Bangla Clinic for advanced treatment.
