A Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight from Rome to Dhaka received a bomb threat, prompting heightened security at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport today (Jan 22).
Flight BG-356, carrying all passengers and crew members, landed safely at 9:20 am.
Upon arrival, law enforcement secured the aircraft and evacuated all passengers to the terminal.
According to airport sources, the Biman flight from Rome to Dhaka received a bomb threat during its journey. The airline was notified that a passenger or individual had issued the threat.
"The flight landed safely with 250 passengers and 13 crew members. All passengers have been evacuated safely," said Kamrul Islam, Chief Executive of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.
A bomb disposal unit is thoroughly searching the aircraft to ensure safety, he added.
