Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) acting chairman Tarique Rahman has said that the interim government must not be allowed to fail under any circumstances.
Tarique Rahman made these remarks as the chief guest while virtually joining a rally today organised to commemorate BNP's "National Revolution and Solidarity Day" on November 7.
“Anti-democratic evil forces are engaged in hatching conspiracies home and abroad to fail the interim government. We, myself must remain vigilant to thwart the plan,” he said.
Tarique Rahman said, “It is a procession against fascism, a procession to secure self-protection against discrimination and to realise the fundamental rights of the people”.
Earlier on October 31, BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, announced the schedule at a press conference at the party’s central office in Naya Paltan.
The rally is part of a 10-day program unveiled by BNP to observe the occasion.
On November 7, 1975, soldiers and civilians jointly freed the then Chief of Army Staff Ziaur Rahman from captivity in Dhaka Cantonment, paving the way for him to come to power.
